At RPCC, there are various options for hardware technology for instructors to use with their classes. From Promethean Panels to Mobile Computer labs, you can find all the information you need to utilize hardware in your classroom.
In addition to the resources below, please consult the Classroom Checklist below to make sure you are properly resetting your classroom after each use.
iPad Labs
Important Information for iPad Labs
At the Gonzales campus, we have an iPad Lab available for you to use with your students. Each lab contains 30 iPad devices. Below is the procedures and policies for usage of the iPad Labs.
Policy
The cart, iPad/cases/Apple Pencil, and chargers cannot leave the campus unless RPCC IT or CTEC removes them
Reservations are for the entire iPad Lab and not individual iPad devices
Reservations cannot be set for "all day"
Only reserve the labs for when you are going to be actively using the lab plus transit time to and from classroom space.
The iPad Lab cannot be removed from the arranged pickup area prior to the reservation time and should be returned to the same area by the time your reservation has ended
e.g., if you reserve a lab from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, you cannot pickup the lab before 10:00 am and the lab must be returned by 12:00 pm.
Do not reserve a lab unless you have a planned usage
i.e., do not reserve the lab for every Tuesday in a semester because you might use it
Reservations must be made a minimum of two school days in advance and no longer than a maximum of 2 weeks out
Cart must returned with all iPad devices/cases/Apple Pencil (including each plugged into the cart for charging)
If you run in to issues, contact CTEC
There may be a time when RPCC has to cancel a reservation if a cart needs maintenance

Classroom Technology
Important Information for Classroom Technology
For rooms with Enhanced Audio (speakers in ceiling), volume must only be controlled from the physical buttons on the Promethean Panel
Do NOT unplug cables from behind the Promethean Panel, any part of the PC, surge protectors , or currently used ethernet ports
Keep classroom PCs set to Duplicate (Windows key + P)
Keep Promethean Panel volume less than 50%
Podiums are for temporary storage, so take your items with you when class is concluded for the day
In order to support your fellow colleagues, please follow the Classroom Checklist at the conclusion of each class period
Classroom PC
Log in to the Classroom PCs with your username (same as email minus @rpcc.edu) & password (same as email)
You should be prompted with Multi-Factor Authentication using Duo Mobile
Audio is controlled from the Promethean Panel and not the Classroom PC. If you adjust the audio controls on the Classroom PC, reset them to the original setting prior to leaving the space
Default display is "Duplicate". If you change the display settings, reset them to the original setting prior to leaving the space by pressing Windows+P and selecting "Duplicate"

Tap the PWR/Mute button to mute
To make yourself louder in the speakers, tighten the lanyard instead of using the volume buttons on the mic

Getting Support for Usernames, Passwords, & Multi-Factor Authentication
Canvas Support
Canvas Support is provided into four layers: Canvas Login Support, Canvas by Instructure Support, RPCC Canvas Admin Support, & Enrollment Support. It is important to follow the protocols below to get the quickest resolution.
Canvas Login Support
Use your LoLA credentials to log in to Canvas. If you forget your password, you can recover your password on the LoLA login page. If you are not able to reset or are not able to get into LoLA, contact LCTCS LoLA support at 1 (844) 465-2827. If you have confirmed your LoLA credentials are correct and still have issues logging in to Canvas, contact RPCC Canvas admin to submit a request on your behalf to solve the issue.
Canvas by Instructure Support
This is your first step if you are having issues with Canvas tools. This is NOT if you forget your password, having issues with student enrollments, or RPCC technology policies. This 24/7 chat (or phone support ) will help you with how to use specific tools in Canvas including course copy, settings, etc. Canvas by Instructure CANNOT assist with a password reset. The link to the chat is provided. Both the chat and phone number can be accessed in Canvas under the help button.
RPCC Canvas Admin Support
If you have questions on Canvas usage at RPCC (including the LMS Mandatory Use policy), need a course reset, or want to request a MASTER shell/Sandbox, reach our to canvas@rpcc.edu. Do NOT send an email directly to an individual for Canvas admin support. If you have a question on how to use specific tools, Canvas is glitching, or other options Canvas has, contact Canvas by Instructure support before reaching out to RPCC Canvas admin support. RPCC Canvas admin CANNOT change your login password. If you have issues logging in and have confirmed your LoLA credentials are correct, RPCC Canvas admin can submit a request to LCTCS on your behalf to solve the issue.
Enrollment Support
If a student is not in a Canvas course, confirm they are in that course in Banner. If they are not in that Banner course and should be, please refer the student to student services. If they are correctly scheduled in Banner, but not in Canvas, reach out to RPCC Canvas admin support with the student's name and ID.
